NASSAT (Network & Satellite Systems of Spain) is adding a Telecommunications / Connectivity Engineer to a multidisciplinary innovation team developing a Spanish software platform for the smart management of territory, events and emergencies, based on digital twins, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and sensing. Project funded by the European Union (ERDF).

The role designs the territory network: how sensors, nodes and systems communicate. The aim is not to deploy a new network but to leverage the existing one (fibre, 5G/5G-Advanced, NB-IoT, LoRaWAN) and complement it without duplication, through coverage, redundancy and prioritisation engineering, and connectivity procurement with operators.

Responsibilities

  • Design the multi-technology network architecture (5G, NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, fibre) across the site, distinguishing existing from new infrastructure.
  • Produce the coverage and non-duplication study, and the redundancy and fault-tolerance design.
  • Define dynamic traffic management and prioritisation (QoS, 5G network slicing) for critical services.
  • Manage connectivity procurement with the incumbent operators.

Requirements

  • Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electronic or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in design or deployment of multi-technology networks (5G, NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, fibre) and mission-critical communications in urban environments.
  • Signed CV specifying concrete projects, with dates and role performed.
  • Desirable: QoS/network slicing, private 5G networks, DALI-2 compatibility, IoT (MQTT) and network automation.

Conditions

  • Work mode: remote.
  • Schedule: full-time.
  • Compensation: based on experience.
  • Open until filled; more than one professional may be required.
