The SDL-350 unit also incorporates a cellular modem that enables data communication
over any global LTE, HSPA+ or GSM cellular network using bands 2, 4, 5 or 7. Units
without modification status C are also compatible with band 17, while
units with modification status C additionally support bands 1, 3, 8, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20,
26, 28, 38, 39, 40 and 41.
When cellular networks are available, the SDL-350 automatically switches to mobile-network data
communication using SKYTRAC's automatic Least Cost Routing (LCR) feature.
To extend wireless connectivity capabilities, the SDL-350 offers hotspot-type Wi-Fi
access for both passengers and crew. It can also connect to external Wi-Fi
networks, acting as a bridge to allow avionics systems to access the Internet
while the aircraft is in hangars or terminals, thereby eliminating the need to use
satellite or cellular connections in those environments.
The SDL-350 supports two (2) Ethernet interfaces for generic IP data over Certus and one
RS485 interface for audio control and telephone-dialling integration with the MTC-100
Multi-To device.
